Best Safari Destinations in Africa

safari-arfica-travelmodus-3

The best time to visit Africa and wildlife parks is from May to September. This is the dry season and animals congregate around waterholes and rivers. May and September are wonderful because it is less cold and, especially in September, the wildlife viewing is excellent, when the lack of grass and foliage increases visibility, and the animals and birds are forced to congregate around limited water sources. I have chosen the Best Safari destination for the upcoming months

Chobe National Park, Botswana

Chobe National park lies in Botswana’s Okavango Delta and covers four distinct Eco-systems. The Savuti marsh in particular offers some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa year round. Chobe boasts around 120,000 elephants, you’re unlikely to miss them when you enjoy a safari here. The best time to visit Chobe is between April and October, the dry, cooler winter months. Herds of zebra, eland, buffalo, giraffe and wildebeest congregate around the Savuti marsh this time of year. Chobe is accessible by car which makes it a little less expensive than some other Botswana Parks.

Serengeti National Park Tanzania

Arguably the most magnificent park in Africa, the Serengeti basks in prolific amounts of game and is invigorating in its sheer vastness and dramatic staging. Annually, 1.5 million wildebeest and some 250,000 zebra migrate through. Prides of lion thrive here, upwards of 3,000, spotted lazing on ‘kopje’ outcrops. Grumeti River houses some of the largest Nile crocodiles in the world.
