Hotel The Exchange is a hotel with a special love of fashion. Students of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute dressed the rooms like models on the catwalk. The hotel is located in three buildings, of which the oldest dates back to the 17th century. In the same buildings there is a 230 m2 contemporary department store Options! and a restaurant Stock that serves breakfast till late.

Hotel The Exchange has 61 rooms, ranging from 1 to 5 stars. Each room has been designed and dressed by graduates and alumni of the Amsterdam Fashion Institute (AMFI). The rooms are as diverse and inspiring, as the neighborhood the hotel lies in.The romantic at heart can fall asleep in a Marie Antoinette-inspired room where a huge dress drapes over the walls and unto the bed. Or, if you prefer a more minimal look, opt for a room that is based on the old fairy tale of the Emperor’s New Clothes. There are  also sewing machines in the hotel if you want to sew by yourself!

Habita Group’s Eco Hotel Endémico Resguardo Silvestre is a ‘wild reserve’ designed by architect Jorge Gracia.  Arranged on a hillside about 40 minutes outside of Ensenada, in the heart of Mexico’s wine country, the 20 free-standing units, each with a terrace and outdoor clay chimenea, set on a 40-acre winery in Valle de Guadalaupe. The interiors are sleek and modern, an interesting contrast to the wild terrain outside.

Set inside Cheval Blanc hotel, adjacent to the slopes  The 1947 reveals a refined leather-clad décor, specially created by Sybille de Margerie. It is in this sublime setting that Cheval Blanc invites the multi-award-winning chef Yannick Alléno to initiate a new “culinary movement”. The 1947 represents his manifesto for a French cuisine that fuses proud tradition with provocative creativity.

Nestled in the French Alps not far away from alpine village of Mègeve, Le Chalet is a mountain retreat offering a truly luxurious experience. Established over a vast area, the site has three alpine-style chalets. All different, each one of the 12 bedrooms evokes style, beauty and taste. The wellness centre with its indoor swimming pool, sauna, hammam and two treatment rooms is the perfect place to relax. In the lounge of Le Chalet, you can relax in front of the fire or sit out on the terrace. The views are panoramic and magnificent.

Château La Coste is a vineyard where art, architecture and land have come together. Architect Jean Nouvel was commissioned to design a technologically advanced wine making chai. The Art Centre, designed by Tadao Ando. In La Coste winery and vineyard  you can walk  through 180 hectares of wooded hilltops, valleys and vines discover works Louise Bourgeois, Alexander Calder, Andy Goldsworthy, Carsten Holler, Paul Matisse, Jean Prouve, Richard Serra among many others.

The Louisiana Museum of Modern Art begins the exhibition year 2012 with a presentation of the most pace-setting photographer today, Andreas Gursky. Many of Gursky’s pictures come close to the painterly, others appear highly photographic. With 45 of the artist’s mega-photographs and about 26 smaller photographs, Louisiana’s exhibition spans all of Gursky’s output right up to the very latest photographs.  The exhibition thus gives the viewer the opportunity to follow the transformations and transformative power of the pictures over more than two decades.

Mathematics: A Beautiful Elsewhere with the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain invites the public to participate in a total and original creative experience conceived in association with the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques (IHÉS) and presented under the patronage of UNESCO. The exhibition is an unveiling of the mental landscapes, the infinite horizons and the invisible mysteries of a way of thinking that is fueled by dreams, intuition and creativity.

The first museum exhibition in the United States of the work of Sanja Iveković covers four decades of the artist’s remarkable career. A feminist, activist, and video pioneer, Iveković came of age in the post-1968 period, when artists broke free from mainstream institutional settings, laying the ground for a form of praxis antipodal to official art. Part of the generation known as the Nova Umjetnička Praksa (New Art Practice), Iveković produced works of cross-cultural resonance that range from conceptual photomontages to video and performance.

Red Rooster is located in the heart of Harlem. Chef and owner Marcus Samuelsson serves here comfort food celebrating the roots of American cuisine and the diverse culinary traditions of the neighborhood. In this cheerful place the bar is always packed and sleek the dining room behind  it is decorated with the work of local artists.

The Dutch, located in Soho, is an American joint that serves very good and tasty casual-restaurant food, wine and spirits. Designed by Roman + Williams, its chef is Andrew Carmellini. The restaurant has three main dining areas, all white brick and wood with high ceilings and comfortable seats.The Dutch is an American Restaurant, Bar and Oyster Room inspired by local cafes, country inns, corner taverns, neighborhood bistros, seaside shacks, roadside joints, old school dining halls…

The Delaunay is a café-restaurant in the grand European tradition located in Covent Garden. Designed by David Collins Studio, the space is filled with wood, metal, brass and mirrors. The menus range from breakfasts, brunch on Saturdays & Sundays, all-day snacks, coffees, afternoon teas, sandwiches, platters of crustacea, ice-cream coupes, patisserie and cakes, and a full à la carte, with a daily changing plat du jour and a extensive selection of schnitzels and Wieners.

Maialino is Danny Meyer’s neighborhood Roman-style  trattoria overlooking Gramercy Park. Designed by Rockwell Group, Maialino captures the warmth and comfort of a traditional Roman trattoria, re-imagined for present-day New York City. The long, angular space, off the lobby of the Gramercy Park Hotel has a bar area with wooden tables and a menu filled with inviting finger foods like pizza bianca dusted with smoked pancetta.

As in Rome, the kitchen activity can be seen in the dining room itself. In the center of the restaurant is Maialino’s cucina, featuring a salumi, cheese and antipasto station on one side. The dining room is flanked by wine cases that permit a connection into the trattoria and a broad window with a view onto Gramercy Park.The menu draws its inspiration from the classic dishes found throughout the trattorie of Rome.

Le Royal Eclaireur ’s  name comes from the Palace where it is located : the Royal Monceau. It also ows its identity from the designer who created it : Philippe Starck, in collaboration with Armand Hadida, creator of l’Eclaireur. The shop is imagined like the suite of an hotel, comfortable, spacious, refined. Art, decoration, design, but also a fashionable selection in the innovating line of l’Eclaireur’s mixed universes, the Royal Eclaireur decides to drive the experience a little further.

Located in Nam June Paik Art Center, in Yong-In, South Korea, the library houses and circulates the Center’s Nam June Paik Archives Collection, Nam June Paik Video Archives, and rare Fluxus Footages Collection, as well as the user generated materials.American architecture studio NHDM designed the translucent block, dubbed the Library Machine, to store the multimedia archive.

Aha is the modern eclectic restaurant tucked away in Siem Reap’s old market area and is popular for its tapas style starters and international wine list. You can sit outside and people-watch in the arty, pedestrianised Passage, or favour the cool air-conditioned interior with its funky lighting, 30m wooden wave wall and floor to ceiling wine cellar. From the menu, sample three ’small plates’ in one, or choose a dish from the internationally inspired main menu, and enjoy the mix of Khmer and western flavours.

The twelfth commission in The Unilever Series is by the celebrated British filmmaker Tacita Dean. It is an 11-minute silent 35mm film projected onto a gigantic white monolith standing 13 metres tall at the end of a darkened Turbine Hall. It is the first work in The Unilever Series devoted to the moving image, and celebrates the masterful techniques of analogue film-making as opposed to digital.
