The 12th International Architecture Exhibition, with the title of People meet in architecture is directed by Kazuyo Sejima and will be laid out in the Palazzo delle Esposizioni della Biennale (Giardini) and in the Arsenale, forming a single itinerary, with 48 participants: firms, architects, engineers and artists from around the world.
As usual, the Exhibition will present 53 National Participations to be held in the historical Pavilions in the Giardini, in the Arsenale and in various locations throughout the city of Venice. The title of the Padiglione Italia is AILATI. Reflections from the future. Organized by The Ministry for the Cultural Heritage and Activities, with the PaBAAC – General Direction for the landscape, fine arts, architecture and contemporary art, it is conceived by Luca Molinari.The first-time national participations include Albania, Kingdom of Bahrain, Iran, Malaysia, Morocco, Republic of Rwanda.

The  landmark Hotel Marqués de Riscal,  is  in the “City of Wine”:  winery, hotel and spa in El Ciego,  in the heart of the Rioja wine region. Designed by world famous architect Frank  Gehry, the hotel is his second masterpiece in Spain, after Bilbao’s Guggenheim Museum. For this project Gehry has used materials and forms similar to those used in the Bilbao Guggenheim Museum, but this time the titanium which covers the structure are in the colors of Marqués de Riscal: Pink: for the red wine, Gold: the mesh which covers the bottle, Silver: the capsule of the bottle

Herederos del Marqués de Riscal wanted a modernistic building that aroused emotions. To achieve that they thought of Frank O. Gehry, known for works such as the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao. But they  were not certain that Gehry would accept. However, the proposal was offered accompanied by a wine of his birth year (1929), and he accepted. 

The 43 authentic guest rooms and suites pay tribute to Frank O. Gehry´s  design. For a more spacious retreat, the 29 bedrooms located in the Spa Wing with unique views over the vineyards, the Gehry Wing, and the town of Elciego.

The Storm King Art Center is  one of the world’s leading sculpture parks is located an hour north of New York City, in  Hudson Valley. Located in Eze Village, between Monaco and Nice 429 meters above sea level, before the back country and clinging to a hillside overlooking the sea, Château de la Chèvre d’Or is set in a perfect and privileged location. In 1953, Robert Wolf fell in love with what was a private house and converted it into a restaurant. The Château dela Chèvre d’Or met with immediate success and soon after its reputation reached international magnitude.
Upon the advice of Walt Disney who immediately fell in love with the gourmet restaurant and the setting, the then owner followed his endeavours by purchasing private houses in the village and converted them
into bedrooms.

 In 1960, Bruno Ingold, South African Consul to Monaco and Advisor to the Prince of Monaco, partnered with his friend Robert Wolf to develop the hotel division of the Château. At that time there were only 6 rooms. The hotel continues to grow today at the very heart of the village and now has 37 rooms and suites. Guests over the years include names like Lauren Bacall, Marlene Dietrich, Elizabeth Taylor, Humphrey Bogart, Roger Moore, Tony Curtis, Clint Eastwood and Robert de Niro.
In 1992, a loyal client of the restaurant and “admirer”" of the Château de la Chèvre d’Or was to purchase it, entrusting the management to Therese Blay. The hotel had 18 rooms at that time.

Dead or Alive will showcase the work of over 30 international artists who transform organic materials and objects that were once produced by or part of living organisms-insects, feathers, bones, silkworm cocoons, plant materials, and hair-to create intricately crafted and designed installations and sculptures.

The exhibition explores a territory related to MAD’s Second Lives: Remixing the Ordinary, which featured contemporary works created from multiples of ordinary manufactured items. In Dead or Alive, the materials transformed by the artists are entirely natural. Once-living parts of flora and fauna are recombined and rearranged into works of art that address the transience of life, and all that is elegant and alarming about the natural world.

Haunted: Contemporary Photography/Video/Performance examines myriad ways photographic imagery is incorporated into recent practice and in the process underscores the unique power of reproductive media while documenting a widespread contemporary obsession, both collective and individual, with accessing the past.  Drawn primarily from the Guggenheim Museum collection, Haunted features recent acquisitions, many of which are exhibited by the museum for the first time. Included in the show is work by such artists as Marina Abramovic, Bernd and Hilla Becher, Sophie Calle, Tacita Dean, Stan Douglas, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Roni Horn, Zoe Leonard, Robert Rauschenberg, Cindy Sherman, Hiroshi Sugimoto, Jeff Wall, and Andy Warhol.
