Hotel Splendido, Portofino

The most important aspect of Hotel Splendido is being in Portofino, the riviera town of Italy which was the charming 1980’s. Lost its fame to new cities in the world, Portofino is still the chic town where most visitors arrive in their own yachts or stay in hotel Splendido.

Being a monastery, back in the 16th century, Splendido is overlooking a ravishing seascape, a retreat suspended above the sea, with 64 rooms and suites.

Opened in 1900, the hotel was the attraction of the famous like Bogart and Bacall, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, Liz Taylor, and Rex Harrison.

Dining in the hotel is a real pleasure. Its Ligurian cuisine is a must.

With its gardens, , saltwater heated  pool, grape-vined terraces, piano bar overlooking to the beautiful Portofino bay and Carnevon Castle, oversized bedrooms with chick balconies Splendido is still in the game.
