The New York Standard Hotel is the 18 story building over the High Line. Andre Balazs’s latest New York property is designed by Polshek Partnership and became the new iconic building of Manhattan.

The retro style interiors,  designed by Shawn Hausmanand Roman & Williams, strike you as soon as you enter the hotel from a yellow door. The lobby and lounge area are very sexy and interesting and the Standard Grill restaurant is full with hot and attractive crowd.  Although some of them really compact, the 337 rooms have floor to ceiling windows and spectacular views of lower Manhattan, Hudson River and New Jersey cost. Viewed from the outside at night, the discreetly illuminated ceiling photos enhance the hotel’s façade with a mosaic of colors and a fascinating light. The Chateau Marmont is not only a hotel in Hollywood, but it is a legend which has served as the backdrop for a number of events in the lives of well-known stars.. Jean Harlow carried on an affair with Clark Gable while honeymooning here with her husband, John Belushi overdosed and died here, When Montgomery Clift was almost killed in a  auto accident Elizabeth Taylor brought him to Chateau, Scott Fitzgerald suffered a heart-attack, Red Hot Chili Peppers recorded his vocals for “By the Way” in this hotel. Colin Farrell was once caught making out with Britney Spears here and it goes on and on and on for almost 70 years..
Built in 1927 and modeled loosely after the Château d’Amboise in France’s Loire Valley by Fred Horowitz, a local attorney. His project turned into the Chateau Marmont, named for the street running across the back of the property.  It opened in February 1929 as an apartment house, but high rents and the Depression kept renters away. In 1931 the building was changed to a hotel. The hotel was bought in 1990 and managed by Andre Balazs properties and it’s been continuing  a hot spot ever since..

Nine cottages were built in the 1930s next to the hotel, which were acquired by the hotel in the 1940s. Two of the 4 bungalows at the Chateau Marmont were designed by Craig Ellwood in 1956 after he completed Case Study Houses. The bungalows are like miniature case study houses
The hotel also has an exclusive, reservations-only restaurant serving California and Eclectic cuisine. The chef is Caryolynn Spence, originally of New York’s Spotted Pig.[3]

The building was originally constructed in 1958 as the headquarters of Standard Oil. Designed by Los Angeles architect of the period Claude Beelman as a fine example of Mid-Century Californian architecture, it was acquired by Andre Balazs properties in 2000 and renovated by architect Shawn Hausman for today’s needs of contemporary travelers.
Hotels 207 rooms are very minimalist with platform beds, black-and-white decor, and abstract art. They include everything a business traveler could want..
The hotels funky restaurant is open 24 hours, so is the room service..

Standard Downtown has one of the coolest bars in LA  on its rooftop around the pool. ..The parties starting here in the afternoon and continuing all night attract a young and hip crowd. It is really cool dancing around the pool, sitting in the red cabanas with water beds surrounded by skyscrapers of downtown. Standard Downtown is stylish and cool and affordable at the same time but if you are looking for a quite place to work, you have to book somewhere else..

A classic Miami Beach landmark and once the 1920’s playground for the rich and famous is reborn as Gansevoort South, the sister hotel of Gansevoort New York. The building, originally constructed in the 1960’s in the classic Art Deco style of South Beach, has been entirely redesigned around a multi-level private beach club with a magnificent pool.  The Nikki Beach inspired décor is contemporary tropical style.  The private cabana level acts as a tranquil enclave, while the oceanfront beach level features the club’s main bar, volleyball courts, and a seating area with over-sized lounges and cabanas.
